I want to see this movie since so long! I wonder why it hasn't released here.
You know, after it won the Oscar, everyone criticized the fact that Gore himself lived in a mansion and consumed volumes of energy.
I just think, no matter what, this movie had initiated a big awareness wave for Global Warming. It should be applauded for that. It's amazing, but the now weekly Time magazine always has one article on Global Warming.
Now that I think of it, why don't I write a post on this? Hmm.. :D
Wonderful, except , there is no consensus among scientists, who broadly fall into 3 groups :
1. Those that claim, that climatic data do not show any significant "global" rises in temperature but that recent heating spells are local effects, merely causing temperature zones to shift.
2. Those that claim , that global warming is occurring but due to natural cycles in the Earth's geological life. These cycles are similar to those that cause ice ages after warm spells.
3. The bunch that claim , the man and his CO2 cause Global Warming.
Personally, looking at the data from NASA's website, I tend to NOT believe the Greenpeace types. A Google on "Global Warming Myth" will draw up sufficient scientific information on the matter. Politicians of course, want us to have Global warming(in our heads at least), because it allows Developed nations to stifle developing ones and sell all kinds of fancy technology. Global Warming is definitely a marketing meme, rather that scientific hard core reality. Of course, it is generally a good idea to have a homeostatic system in the environment and move to fuels etc that maintain this balance, and I second this idea whole-heartedly. Yet, I do not share the hype on Global Warming.
The "incovenient truth" is that Al Gore was one of the men who decided to bomb the Balkans with bombs made of nuclear wastes.
Those bombs polluted the lands, the water, the underground water for the next decades for all Balkans.
It is an awful lie from Al Gore that is interested for the good of the environment.
